Red Lobster drops cost-cutting rule after customer complaints

Red Lobster will drop a new policy of requiring servers to handle four tables instead of three after complaints from customers, the company said Tuesday. The Darden Restaurants-owned chain will also drop a requirement that all servers start out as lower-paid service assistants, a position created to back up servers and improve efficiency as they covered more tables.
