VA center adopts new approach to coordinated care

The Department of Veterans Affairs has partnered with the private sector to create the first integrated mental health care facility that provides veterans and their families with coordinated care under one roof. The Unified Behavioral Health Center for Military Veterans and Their Families will feature VA mental health workers treating veterans on one side of the building and providers from North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System providing counseling to family members on the other side, with the teams coming together to coordinate treatment.
