Virgin coconut oil clears pediatric atopic dermatitis in study

Atopic dermatitis improved in 93% of children treated with twice-daily topical virgin coconut oil, and 46% experienced an improvement of 75% or more, researchers report. In comparison, atopic dermatitis improved in 53% of children treated with mineral oil, and 19% experienced an excellent response. Virgin coconut oil also outperformed mineral oil in a study of elderly patients with senile xerosis.
