If DISH Network is able to complete its $25.5 billion proposed takeover of Sprint Nextel, the deal could prove helpful in radio's push to be included in cellphones. Sprint has already agreed to include FM chips in 30 million handsets through 2016. Should that deal proceed under potential DISH ownership, radio could gain additional exposure to the satcaster's 14 million homes and in any joint retail outlets.
