Wireless companies mining more location data for marketing

Wireless companies such as Verizon and other smaller startups are using location data collected from cellphones to create more targeted marketing campaigns. Atlanta-based AirSage collects location data from cell towers and aggregate them to detect user patterns and movements. The companies say they are aware of user privacy concerns and many, like Verizon, offer users the chance to opt out of sharing their information.
