BioProcess Algae officially opened Friday its commercial-scale algae bioreactors at the Green Plains Renewable Energy ethanol plant in Shenandoah, Iowa. The bioreactors will combine sunlight, nutrients and waste products at the plant to grow algae that can be used as raw material for ethanol, biodiesel and other bio-based products. "Every plant is looking for ways to utilize the assets they have. If it works, it's pretty creative," said Renewable Fuels Association Chairman Chuck Woodside.
