Laptop program aimed to boost student performance in Mass. district

A Massachusetts school district will begin distributing Apple MacBook computers this fall to all students in eighth grade and high school. The $2.27 million plan is aimed at creating a technology-driven learning environment, which educators say will best prepare students for college and careers. "We fully expect to see measurable improvements in student performance," David Margil, school committee chairman, said.
