Goldman: Pension plans face more funding shortfalls

Corporate defined-benefit pension plans could face an uphill battle for funding in the coming years, Goldman Sachs Asset Management reports. The average funded status of corporate pension plans fell in 2011, while liabilities increased. Many companies can expect to make large contributions to their plans this year and next year.
