Study confirms value of full-body skin exams

Regular, population-based, full-body skin examination programs significantly reduce melanoma mortality rates, a study conducted in northern Germany found. As a result of the study, Germany launched a national program to cover full-body skin screenings every two years for all Germans age 35 years and older, said dermatology professor Andreas Blum, who presented the findings.
