World Bank names U.S. nominee Kim as president

Standing by a custom of selecting an American for its top post, the World Bank named Dartmouth College President Jim Yong Kim, a public health expert, as president. He promised to steer the bank's policies in a direction that "amplifies the voices of developing countries and draws on the expertise and experience of the people we serve."
