FTC files complaints against SMS spammers and bill crammers

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission is taking aim at mobile text spam and bill cramming. Eight companies have been accused of sending spam messages for free gift cards. The FTC has also filed a complaint against Atlanta-based Wise Media for bill cramming, or charging customers for "premium text" services they did not request. The FTC expects to file complaints against additional companies.
