Intel reports double-digit drop in net income in Q1

Intel reported a 25% decline in net income in the first quarter amid further declines in chip sales, highlighting its tenuous position in a post-PC market. The chipmaker is betting that the introduction this fall of a 22-nanometer mobile chip for LTE will give it the boost it needs as it struggles to carve out a dominant position in the market for mobile processors.
