Ky. district considers shift to new grading scale

The school board in Bullitt County, Ky., is considering switching from an eight-point grading scale to a 10-point scale to help middle- and high-school students earn better grades -- and perhaps more college scholarships. A separate option calls for issuing two grades to students -- one based on performance and one based on other factors, including progress and whether they completed assignments.
