La. education board drops proposal on school counselors, librarians

A proposal to ease staffing requirements for school counselors and librarians has been scrapped by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. The board earlier this year approved the plan, which would have allowed schools to reduce these faculty positions if they could provide the services through alternative means, but then reversed its position after opposition from counselors and librarians.
