Long-term diabetes survivors show better health markers

Type 2 diabetes patients who had the disease for more than four decades showed better glycemic control, lipid profiles and blood pressure levels compared with nonsurvivors, a study in Diabetes Care indicated. However, higher rates of complications were seen in long-term survivors, due in part to age, researchers noted.
