New owner wanted for idled Ind. ethanol plant

Biditup Auctions and Appraisals Worldwide and Maynards, which acquired the former New Energy ethanol plant in South Bend, Ind., for $2.5 million at auction earlier this year, are now looking for a new buyer to bring the idled facility back online. "Our intent is to try to find a buyer to continue to operate that plant, and we're going to give it full and ample to time to try to see if that can come to fruition," said Biditup CEO Steven Mattes. Sealed bids for the 100-million-gallon-per-year facility will be accepted through July 15.
