Oil group chief goes on anti-RFS blitz in nation's capital

Jack Gerard, president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute, visited several White House officials and senior lawmakers Wednesday to press for the elimination of the Renewable Fuel Standard. Biofuel supporters contend that API is targeting the RFS because biofuels are cutting into the market share of fossil fuels. Dismantling the RFS would drive away investors in advanced biofuels, which are getting closer to commercialization, they said.
