Omega-3 supplements can help curb very premature births

An Australian study of 2,400 pregnant women revealed that omega-3 fatty acid supplementation reduced the incidence of very premature birth. The findings, presented at the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand meeting, showed that women who took the supplements had a greater likelihood of having slightly larger and heavier babies compared with women who took a placebo.
