ONC proposes user fee for health IT vendors

Health IT vendors would be required to pay a user fee under the 2014 budget proposed by the ONC, which the agency said would initially amount to $1 million and be gradually phased in. The fee would help make sure the ONC "can continue to fully administer the [HIT] certification program as well as invest resources to improve its efficiency," the budget proposal said.
