Pediatric facility to launch telehealth service for allergy patients

A telemedicine program in Wichita, Kan., for patients who have allergies and asthma is set to be launched by Children's Mercy of Kansas City on April 26. To use the telemedicine service, patients will visit a clinic in Wichita, where they will be assisted by a registered nurse while they consult with providers in Kansas City through a computer connection. The service also allows doctors to perform physical exams of patients remotely and send prescriptions to local pharmacies.
