SEC's Walter says funding squeeze hinders oversight

Congress must deal with the Securities and Exchange Commission's shortage of examiners, which is preventing the agency from properly supervising financial advisers, Commissioner Elisse Walter says. "We all must face the reality that, without future action to address our joint resource constraints in the advisory area, there simply are not enough examiners to go around," Walter told state securities regulators.
