House Democrats push for country-of-origin produce labels

Democratic lawmakers overseeing the House Energy and Commerce Committee have introduced a draft legislation that would require all labels of food, drugs and medical devices to include their country of origin. A GMA official has expressed concern that the proposal, which also suggests additional industry fees to help boost the FDA's budget, could further inflate food prices.
