The Magnolia tree can beautify a garden in the spring season because it produces bright flowers, writes Nigel Colborn. The plant flourishes when grown in damp, fertile soil that gets partial sun. Magnolias need minimal pruning but its crossing branches should be removed in the winter, Colborn adds.
