Salt Lake City officials vote to outlaw new electronic billboards

The Salt Lake City Council voted unanimously last week to ban all new electronic billboards, saying the digital signs are too distracting to drivers and pose a public-safety risk. Council members agreed to revisit the subject and read new research on the impact of digital billboards within the next nine months.
