AMR reports Q1 results; CEO cites building momentum

AMR Corp., the parent company of American Airlines, reported a profit of $8 million for the first quarter, excluding reorganization charges and special items. "For the first time in six years, we produced a first-quarter profit, excluding reorganization items and special charges, and our fourth consecutive quarterly operating profit," AMR Chairman and CEO Tom Horton said. "And the momentum is building."
