An 844-page measure that proposes changes to the U.S.'s immigration system was filed in the Senate on Wednesday. The bill was praised for its ambitious scope and bipartisan nature, and for provisions that would fast-track visas for entrepreneurs and foreigners with degrees from U.S. universities. Some groups, however, raised concerns about E-Verify requirements and the bill's failure to address visa eligibility for binational gay and lesbian couples.
