Android malware rises by triple digits in 2012

Malware writers are stepping up their attacks on the Android platform, according to analysts who identified 65,227 individual bugs in 2012, which is 163% more than the year before and far above the 1,649 discovered in 2009. An analysis by NQ Mobile found the number of infected Android phones more than tripled in 2012, to 32.8 million, with a quarter of bugs designed to steal personal user data.
