Despite attempts to cool market, China home prices rise

China's efforts to tame an overheating property market appear to be having little effect so far as average home prices rose last month in 68 of 70 major Chinese cities. "Property-tightening measures have been less strict than expected and there is still strong demand for homes," said property analyst Chen Geng at Philip Securities.
