'Dude Food' defined: eateries add more extreme meals to the menu

Quickservice chains looking to satisfy the young male demographic that makes up a big piece of their business have increasingly turned to testing extreme menu items like the Dunkin' Donuts breakfast sandwich that sports pepper fried egg and cherrywood-smoked bacon between two glazed doughnuts and the Bacon Cheddar Stuffed Burger at Burger King. "Marketers have no shortage of ideas to test. It’s hard to rule anything out," said Technomic's Darren Tristano.
