It's a good time to be a British butler: The global demand for authentically English-accented domestics is at a 50-year high. Some insiders fret that the rush to train butlers could lead to a decline in standards, and note that the job requires handling a range of domestic tasks with discretion and aplomb. "One minute you're chopping wood and the next you're bringing a duchess in for tea," says butler trainer Robin Stuart.
