Proposal on immigration reform is filed

An 844-page measure that proposes changes to the country's immigration system has been filed on the Senate floor. Lawmakers say opponents may offer "poison pill" amendments to defeat the measure. The Senate Judiciary Committee could take up the bill in early May, moving it to the Senate floor by June, said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.
