You'll be at a disadvantage during negotiations if you don't have clear goals, so you should identify the minimum terms you are willing to accept before beginning the discussion, Robert Moskowitz writes. "Fix this 'inner bottom line' firmly in your mind and don’t go below it," he advises. Pay attention to the objections raised by the other party, and don't immediately abandon your initial offer at the first sign of resistance, he writes.
