U.S. to proceed with preclearance facility in Abu Dhabi

Despite opposition from the airline industry, the U.S. government is proceeding with plans to open a customs preclearance facility in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. "The Abu Dhabi agreement will shift the resource allocation dynamic to reward deep pockets while entry points with the greatest travel demand and need for staff continue to suffer," wrote Airlines for America and other aviation groups in a letter to the Department of Homeland Security.
