Wasting time in meetings? Here's how to stop

If meetings are sucking up too much time, try handing out all of the relevant materials beforehand and proceeding under the assumption that everyone has read them. "It's boring and wasteful to report information in meetings that should be reserved for those activities that can't be done alone: debate, argument, resolution," writes Margaret Heffernan.
