Obama expands stimulus incentives to outpatient docs

A bill revising the definition of hospital-based physicians in the HITECH Act was signed into law by President Barack Obama on Thursday. Under the measure, doctors who treat patients in hospital-based outpatient clinics would be allowed to apply for incentive payments if they demonstrate meaningful use of health IT.
