Top Canadian official visits DR Congo, highlights violence

Canada's Governor General Michaelle Jean visited the Democratic Republic of Congo over the weekend to focus international attention on violence against women in the midst of speculation Ottawa may soon assume lead command of the United Nations' peacekeeping mission there. Canadian officials are expected to make a decision within weeks.
