Rocket contest names 100 teams of students as finalists

The largest rocket contest in the world, sponsored by the Aerospace Industries Association and the National Association of Rocketry, challenges student teams to develop a model rocket that can carry an egg 750 feet in the air and return it safely to the ground. The 100 finalist teams have been invited to Washington, D.C., in May for the final round. The students "represent a cross-section of the next generation of aerospace talent, to converge on the launch pad this May," said AIA President and CEO Marion Blakey.
