U.S. corporations increasingly move jobs overseas

Major U.S. multinational corporations eliminated 2.9 million domestic jobs between 2000 and 2010, but created 2.4 million jobs abroad, according to the Department of Labor. Critics of such practices say more government action is needed to keep jobs in the U.S., while others see the trend as the U.S. losing its appeal for huge businesses. Some companies contend they are simply going where the customers are, and still invest in American hiring.
