Alzheimer's experts hope funding keeps up with research momentum

Though funding still isn't where it needs to be, research into the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease is gaining momentum and the new National Alzheimer's Project Act could be a game-changer, much like the Nixon era's war on cancer, medical experts said. The government in February announced an additional $50 million for Alzheimer's research for 2012 and $80 million more is in the administration's fiscal 2013 budget proposal.
