Study describes bed use in pediatric ICUs

The majority of bed utilization in pediatric intensive care units was for critical care services, but a significant amount of bed-hours were for noncritical care services, according to a study in the Journal of Hospital Medicine. Researchers said almost 5% of all bed-hours are spent waiting for floor beds.
