Why mobile developers aren't abandoning native apps anytime soon

HTML5 simply isn't capable of delivering the kind of media-rich, high-frame-rate experiences mobile developers can create with native applications, panelists said at an MIT conference last week. "I think everyone wants it to catch up, but I don't think HTML5 and JavaScript are ever going to catch up to native alternatives. ... Companies care about building products that work. You know what you want your product to be, and then you figure out the best way to do it," said former Microsoft mobile architect Eli Schleifer.
