Workers prepare drilling operation for $2B Seattle tunnel project

More than 200 steel-reinforced concrete pillars will form the walls of a 420-foot-long pit being dug in Seattle. When completed, the pit will be the launch site for a massive boring machine that will drill a new tunnel under the city. Work on the project is expected to last until the end of 2015.
