AAR: Rail carloads post drop, but intermodal rises in latest week

Carload volume on U.S. freight railroads dropped 0.6% in the week ending April 13 year-on-year, but intermodal rose 3.3% and combined traffic rose 1.2%, according to the Association of American Railroads. Shipments of petroleum and petroleum commodities were up 51.2% in the latest week year-on-year, AAR said.
