Wash. expands alternatives for meeting math graduation requirement

Washington state's Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction has announced it will allow students who have not passed the state's math exam, but have passed the state's reading and writing tests, to submit a portfolio of work as an alternative. This is the first year that students have been required to pass the math exam or show proficiency via an approved alternative method.
