Spanking ranks low among parental discipline strategies

A C.S. Mott Children's Hospital poll on parental disciplinary strategies found 88% try to explain or reason with a child while 70% of parents take away a privilege or enjoyable activity. About 59% of parents opted for timeouts or grounding and only 22% said they were likely to spank their child.
