Michigan law protects provider apologies for medical errors

Michigan legislation signed into law Tuesday allows health care providers to apologize to patients for medical errors without having it used against them in a malpractice lawsuit. The bill had the support of state medical groups, and now 36 states and the District of Columbia have similar "I'm sorry" laws.
