Participants drop 1,500 pounds halfway through competition

Staff of West Virginia University's Charleston Health Sciences Center and Charleston Area Medical Center participating in a "Biggest Loser" competition have dropped more than 1,500 pounds just halfway through the 12-week program. The program, in which participants compete for team and individual prizes, aims to encourage a workforce role in employees' health, an official said.
