Yahoo! reports lower earnings and mixed results on ad sales

The company reported a 19% decline in search-advertising revenue, two years after combining its search engine with Microsoft's. Display advertising increased 10%, an optimistic note for the company, which is pinning its turnaround on lucrative, long-term deals for display ads.
