Middle-school students practice what they learn about nutrition

Students at Collinsville Middle School in Illinois are taking nutrition lessons to heart, telling their parents to stop buying junk food, trying out a vegetarian diet and urging friends to eat healthier. The nutrition unit teaches students to read food labels, to determine their calorie needs per day and to watch for advertising that may make an unhealthy food seem cool.
