Boeing plans to convert 5 747-8s into cargo freighters

Boeing is starting to send its five flight test 747-8 freighter jumbo jets to Texas in order to refurbish and prepare them to be delivered as new cargo freighters. The company doesn't have the room to refurbish the jets in Everett, Wash., because of the work being done there on the 787 Dreamliners, according to Marc Birtel, a spokesman for Boeing. "We determined we don't have the physical capacity in Everett to do the work," Birtel said.
